Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education ensures the best educational experiences to teacher candidates who will serve for young children and their families in our country and also offers a quality atmosphere for researchers who will contribute to knowledge about early childhood educational experiences.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education at METU is to prepare creative, passionate, and competent teachers who are not only equipped with educational theory but also knowledgeable about and demonstrate the best educational practices; to conduct high-quality research in early childhood education; to contribute to the policy decisions for young learners and their families through research and evidence-based strategies; to promote high ethical standards and democratic principles in early childhood research and practice, and to expand partnerships with national and international communities in responding to the educational needs of 21st century.
